Every single working day in the UK, two construction workers take their own life

Ruggles & Jeffery Ltd continue to be proud supporters of the ‘Lighthouse Club’, the Construction Industry Charity that provides the confidential Construction Industry Helpline.

Following their recent ‘Construction Workers Family Crisis Fund’ appeal we will be making an additional donation to support their work. Their funding has been virtually wiped out by the Coronavirus pandemic at a time when they are receiving an unprecedented volume of calls from construction workers and their families.

If you are not aware of the ‘Lighthouse Club’, they provide a confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline: 0345 605 1956, this is available to all of the Construction industry’s workforce and their families in the UK and Ireland. Whether you’re an employer or an employee, their support is available through the helpline that provides the first point of contact for those who need to access a range of completely confidential support services including:

  • Emergency financial aid to construction families in crisis
  • Advice on occupational help and wellbeing
  • Support on legal, tax and debt management matters

We have this week asked our suppliers and sub-contractors to make their people aware, if they weren’t already, of the support available from the Lighthouse Club, understanding that these are difficult and uncertain times for all.
